Michael Brown obtained his B.S. in Exercise Physiology in 1985 from the University of Colorado where he ran track and cross-country, and performed physiological testing and research in the human performance laboratory. He began Bicycle racing in 1983 and is currently a category 1 racer. He has raced on cycling teams with Tour De France veterans Christian Van de Velde and Jonathan Vaughters, and other noteable professionals including Tinker Juarez and Rishi Grewal. He has won multiple State and National Championship medals in cycling. He also competes in triathlons, is a three time USAT All-American and a three time qualifier for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. He has coached numerous regional and national caliber individual cyclists, adult and junior cycling teams, runners, adventure racers, endurance mountain bike racers, and triathletes. He is a USA Cycling licensed coach, a USA Triathlon certified coach, an A.C.E. certified personal trainer, a LeMond Fitness Certified Master Trainer, an Outdoor Emergency Care Technician, and a certified massage therapist. He is a presenter for IDEA at their international conventions, as well as an A.C.E. recognized provider of continuing education courses for fitness professionals, and is an active member of the Heavenly Ski Resort volunteer ski patrol.
Dr. Mary Patock is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist as well as a Certified Sports Psychologist, currently serving as a clinical manager for Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, California. She has been an active athlete her entire life, and is currently a competitive age group triathlete with multiple top five age group finishes, as well as being a USAT All-American and a qualifiier for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. She understands that the physical preparation for any athletic endeavor is only part of the equation; psychological preparation is also key.
